GS University, a venture of Shri Jaipal Singh Sharma Trust, was granted university status by the Uttar Pradesh Government under the Uttar Pradesh Private Universities Act, 2019. The Uttar Pradesh Private University (Fifth Amendment) Ordinance of 2024 was implemented to facilitate its establishment.
